7th hacking in a year brought the losses of Bitcoin exchanges up to $105 millions
Hacking and the amount of damage was confirmed by the administrator of the exchange telegram-channel. According to him, the incident occurred three days ago.
The Vietnamese exchange is mainly selling tokens of little-known projects through its IEO-platform Launchpad. Currently, it is tokensale blockchain project MyFie.
VinDAX has already become the seventh hacked cryptocurrency exchange this year, and the total damage from the attacks exceeded $105 million.
In January, hackers hacked into Cryptopia’s New Zealand site for $3.5 million. In March, Singapore’s DragonEx ($6 million) and South Korea’s Bithumb ($19 million) suffered from cyber-attacks.
The May break-in of Binance cost 7,000 BTC ($40.5 million) in the Bitcoin exchange. This was followed by successful hacker attacks on Singapore’s Bitrue ($4.3 million) and Japan’s BitPoint ($32 million).
The total amount of damage from the hacking of cryptocurrency exchanges for the entire time reached $1.39 billion.
As a reminder, last year the attack on the Japanese Coincheck exchange alone brought hackers more than $530 million in XEM tokens.
