The Venezuelan President promoted Trezor wallet on national television
Video of the President’s speech was published on his official Facebook page. In one part of the program, Maduro met with employees of Trezorvenezuela, which claims to be the representative of Trezor in Venezuela. However, Trezor itself claims that this is the first time it has ever seen these people.
Trezorvenezuela has created accounts on the social networks Facebook and Instagram, which have links to the official website of Trezor. However, on its official Twitter page, Trezor denies its connection with the company represented on VTV channel.
Trezor reported that it does not have official resellers in Venezuela, and provided a link to the full list of its partners. The company also stated that its employees did not meet Maduro and did not attend the “cryptocurrency show” in Caracas.
Trezor noted in their blog that Trezorvenezuela was the official dealer of Trezor products under the contract signed in the 3rd quarter of 2018. However, in June this year, Trezor removed the company from the list of licensed dealers due to a lack of activity.
In July, the information security unit Ledger Donjon checked the hardware wallets of different manufacturers and found that Trezor devices were vulnerable to physical intrusion. In March, hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger also discovered vulnerabilities in Trezor devices.
